Patrick’s Wish

Sharks are a fascinating species that one of our wish children is truly in awe of. So when he was asked what his wish would be…the answer was one to shock and amaze. Patrick wanted to swim with sharks!

Patrick is a local 17 year old boy who loves to watch Family Guy and eat tacos. He is a bit of a dare devil at heart…and so his wish to swim with sharks was no surprise.

Patrick went on the trip of a lifetime when he flew down to the Bahamas to go on his shark dive. Patrick learned how to scuba dive before the trip so that he was certified and ready to go upon arrival. The trainers prepared Patrick for the dive and before he knew it…he was swimming with real live sharks! You can tell by the pictures that this was truly an amazing experience with sharks swimming all around him. Patrick will treasure these memories for years to come!

Timmy’s Wish

Timmy, a five year old boy from Kenmore, NY is diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a life threatening medical condition. Timmy likes to listen to all types of music, except country. In his spare time he rides his bike and enjoys reading. Timmy’s favorite sports team is the New York Giants and he loves to watch them with his dad. When he was recently asked by Make-A-Wish wish granters if he had one wish what would it be?!…Timmy eagerly responded he wanted a New York Giants bedroom makeover!

Recently, wish granters went out and picked new furniture, curtains, bedding and a really cool GIANT helmet for his wall! Thanks to your support, Timmy will be able to enjoy his new sports bedroom with all of his friends and family!

15th Annual 97Rock Radio-Thon!

97 Rock’s 15th Annual Radio-Thon to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Western New York raised over $241,000 in pledged receivables. To date, Larry Norton has helped bring over $2.4 million to the children of Western New York. The event took place beginning Thursday, September 17th at 6:00 AM through Friday, September 18th ending at 10:00 AM.
For 28-consecutive-hours, Larry Norton was on the air taking “pay-for-play” requests with all monies benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Western New York.

Abbott’s Frozen Custard

Abbott’s Frozen Custard has helped make wishes come true for children with life-threatening medical conditions. During the 2009 season, Abbott’s has donated 5¢ of every Blue Star Sprinkle purchase to the local chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® towards it’s donation of $5,000, Abbott’s presented a check for $5000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® on Tuesday, September 15th at 4:00 pm at their Lake Avenue location.

“Good corporate partners like Abbott’s care about their customers and families in the communities they serve,” said Heather Alessi, Director of Corporate Relations of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Western New York. “The Foundation’s partnership with Abbott’s will help bring hope, strength and joy to even more courageous children whose wishes are waiting to be granted.”
